The housewife takes on a full time online job

It was my idea to get me a full time online job. I felt it was something we just had to do.  I’ve been taking on short-term projects for the past several years but it was no longer working for us. We’re raising three boys and they’ve got needs we have to meet and bills we have to pay. I also didn’t want Jay to take on any more extra jobs; that wasn’t working for us either. I want him to have time for me and the kids and having jobs on the side take that away from us. Moving closer […]

#ThrowbackThursday: An old blog about Pablo at 5

Note: Our Pablo is turning 8 in less than 2 weeks and it was just timely for me to have found this from my old blog site.  It’s true what they say that the dynamics change as our children get older.  This old blog just reminds me how fast days go by. I miss our 5-year old Pablo but parenting a would-be-8 years old is a thrill on its own. Turning 5 He’s been waiting almost the whole year to turn 5! Sharing my insight on Prophetic lullaby for babies

I grew up exposed to worship hymns. My parents were members of a Catholic charismatic community and they had weekly worship services and activities that used a lot of these songs. That time, despite having read all the stories in the bible at a young age, I wasn’t aware that I had […]

Opportunities To Teach Through “The Bible”

We’ve been watching the first few episodes of History Channel’s The Bible. One episode showed how Israel had fallen in the hands of Babylon and how they killed the children and captured Daniel and his friends. We all know how brutal some of the scenes were. At one point, Pablo, our 7-year old son started to cry. He got scared at how Nabuchadnezzar had chased Judah’s last king, Zedekiah and how he had the sons’ throats slit. Is that going to happen to us, mom? He asked. I was tempted to just dismiss it as just a story and tell […]

Kasambahay Bill is now a Law

Kasambahay Bill is 2-way after all So, I’ve heard that the Kasambahay bill has now been made into a law. Many people have raised protests over the passing of the bill, seeing it as one-sided in favor of the helper (kasambahay). The truth is, there have been reports of abusive employers; you see it reported once in a while on the news. But the number of abusive helpers is bigger, as far as I have experienced.   Just recently, a post has been circulating about a maid who pushed her employer down the stairs and smashed her head bloody with a […]
