The Newbie Traveler

I have never really understood the value of travelling until I got married and started homeschooling my eldest son. As a child, my parents barely took us outside of Manila. The only traveling we’ve done, really, was going back and forth their hometowns in Batangas and joining other families from our church in beach get-togethers during summers. Back then, I only dreamed about going to Tokyo Disneyland which was such a hit to my classmates whose folks took them there for trips on school breaks, and Alaska, because I so wanted to see snow and Igloos, and thought that Eskimos […]

That Bellarocca Summer

Bellarocca happened in the summer of 2015. The place was straight out of my dreams. You might be thinking it’s probably because I’ve not been in too many resorts in my life, but it’s not that. Whatever seeming barrenness the renovation at that time brought about was filled out by my imagination. We went with friends. It was an 8-hour drive (one way) with a ride on a RORO ship. We all rode the resorts’ service going there so we can all rest along the way. I usually don’t commit to such trips unless we have our own car to […]

The Beauty that is Puerto Del Sol

I almost didn’t go. I honestly didn’t want to because of the major adjustment the family had to make to let me go on a 3-day team building trip at Puerto Del Sol with Spiralytics, a digital marketing company I write for on a freelance basis. But it was my husband who encouraged me to go and have my first ever “me time” away from my children and the family in years. Those who know me really well, a.k.a. my best friend and a few confidantes, understand exactly how big of a challenge this was for me….. But there are […]

Celebrating my 40th birthday at F1 Hotel, BGC

Yes, you’ve read it right. I’m 40 and just when I thought I’d get depressed over it, the tide went the other way.  It’s been one heck of a ride getting here, but God’s been truly faithful in every single day. I’m excited! My life is, again,  beginning. And since it’s such a milestone, I wanted to spend it with my husband and kids at F1 Hotel in BGC, using the FREE staycation voucher I won from Phenomenal Mama. Well hello there, neighbor! We shall see you soon. 🙂 #staycation #winner #family A photo posted by May De Jesus-Palacpac (@fullyhousewifed) on Apr 2, 2015 […]

Camaya Sands: The beach and the beautiful

Updated as of April 24, 2016. Had we known that there’s a beautiful beach only an hour and a half away from Manila, we would have taken the kids there a long time ago! That’s what we found out when we accepted the invitation of our friend, Marwena, and her family, for a day trip at Camaya Sands Resort and Leisure in Mariveles, Bataan last weekend. Camaya Sands Resort has been touted as the “little Boracay of Bataan.” I’ve never been to Boracay, but you get the sense of how beautiful it’s going to be once you step into the fully air-conditioned […]
