Tips from a Maid-less Work-at-Home-Mom

Note: I first posted this blog in September of 2011 when my two older children were six and two while our youngest was 9 months old. When I transferred to WordPress in August of 2012, I reposted it in the new blog but didn’t make any effort to share it until now. Many moms have been asking me again lately how I am able to accomplish the things that I accomplish with three active little boys, a full time online job and no helper. So I’ve decided to re-share this – my (not-so) secrets to getting things done. It still […]

The Crowd & Attractions at Star City!

I’ve been avoiding taking the kids to Star City for years. I’ve tried visiting the carnival a few times before and I always came out either disappointed or freaked out. I’m mildly agoraphobic so that had played a part in how I felt about the place. Judah celebrates 3 at Star City Judah turned three last January 1. We didn’t plan on a big celebration  but we wanted him to enjoy his birthday with us and his brothers. We originally planned on going to Active Fun but all of us, except for Jay, were coughing so badly, we thought they might refuse […]

The Mini Zoo they have at Residence Inn, Tagaytay

Since we were going to Taal Vista Hotel for our stay-cation, Jay and I thought it would be a good idea to bring the kids to see the animals at Paradizoo. I’ve never really heard of Paradizoo nor Residence Inn until I saw their promo on Metro Deal. We’ve passed by the place on our way to a friend’s private resort in Nasugbu, Batangas several months back but I didn’t know the name of the place. Residence Inn is only 5 kilometers away from Taal Vista Hotel but Paradizoo is another 6 kilometers. I thought at first that Residence Inn […]

Last Wednesday, our family went to Taal Vista hotel to use the gift certificate that we won in Mrs. C’s Sugarcoated Life Taal Vista stay-cation contest .  It’s just an overnight stay, really, but it’s a huge deal for us because it was our very first family get-away. Things didn’t go as smoothly as I planned. For starters, I got sick the week of our stay-cation and was feeling weak, dizzy and unwell even on the night before our reserved date. Because of it, I packed late and I failed to buy kites (so kite-flying which was part of our original […]

Save Philippine Seas Watercolor Workshop

I’ve always been a fan of art. I’m not really an artist, (well, not the kind that paints and stuff) but I have always liked getting lost in the creativeness of those who are. So when a fellow WAHM posted an announcement about a Basic Art Workshop on the Manila Work-At-Home-Moms group page, I immediately registered Pablo. (The ad said 5 years and above, so Lukas and Judah can’t join yet) Who knows? He could be the next Fernando Amorsolo or Juan Luna! I asked him to choose between the pastel class or the watercolor class, he chose watercolor. I don’t really mind. […]
