Blogapalooza 2014 is happening this September (and I am going!)

I first had my taste of blogging when Multiply became a hit among internet users around 2004(?) Okay, I’m not really sure because I was a bit behind in blogging and networking during those years. I had a Friendster account but I forgot my password in a matter of two weeks. Anyway, Multiply shut down and took all my pictures with it. Eventually, I put up my first blog, Raising a King, via Vox but Vox was taken down too, maybe because it wasn’t doing as well as Blogspot and WordPress. So I signed up for a Blogspot account, then eventually took […]

Celebrating our son’s 9th birthday at La Traviesa Hotel Resort, General Trias

All I really wanted was for Jay  not to miss his son’s 9th birthday. We don’t normally tag along Jay when he has out-of-town training and ministry events but we both thought that it would be a good idea that we come as a family this time and celebrate Pablo’s birthday in the company of the ministry we so love. Note: This recipe entry was the 2nd place winner in “Pork Savor All-in-One Cooking Challenge.” I married a picky eater so we were bound to have at least one picky eater among our kids, too. When you’re tight on the budget, it’s quite a challenge to come up with healthy dishes that would get a stamp of approval from my hubby and our brood of three. That’s why when I joined the Pork Savor All-in-one seasoning Cooking Challenge, there was no doubt in my mind that the perfect dish to share is Pork Cottage Pie. The basic cottage pie is made up of ground beef, carrots, […]

Fun old school workout for Work-from-home moms

“Whatever works is worth doing”, that’s my new mantra when it comes to fitness. After trying out all those hip workouts they advertise on Oprah, and while the rains aren’t letting up long enough for a run, I realized that the old school workout, MTV Grind featuring dancer and choreographer, Tina Langdon and body builder, Eric Nies  was the one I needed.   And I think it’s a good workout for every Work-at-Home Moms like me! Let me tell you why: 1. It’s old school but it’s fun. 2. It burns calories and gives you a good sweat afterwards. The […]
