Easy Recipes: Dona Elena’s Easy Pesto Pasta

Hi everyone! I have fifteen minutes before I wake my kids up for their Musical Theatre and Hip Hop classes. This afternoon, I’m accompanying two of them to their recording in Makati. That’s how busy the day’s going to be. So what I’ve got on the cooker right now is Dona Elena Linguine pasta boiling in water. I’m packing the kids’ baon and I’ve decided to prepare Dona Elena’s Easy Pesto Pasta because they love it. I made a video a few weeks back on how to do this. The feedback on it was crazy! People, I’m not sure yet […]

Easy Recipes: Mushroom and Garlic pasta

I just might be sharing more easy recipes in the next few weeks here on my blog until after my son’s season with Matilda ends. (Yep, he’s in the show alternating as Nigel and it’s been crazy for us schedule-wise the past few weeks) Sorry guys, being a stage mother takes a lot of your energy) That’s actually how I ended up cooking Mushroom and Garlic pasta today. Easy Recipes: Tuna, Mushrooms and Capers Pasta Dish

Do you have a go-to dish you depend on when you’ve got absolutely no time to prepare for guests coming over? I do.  I call it Tuna, Mushrooms and Capers Pasta dish, but that’s just me, haha! It took me a while to find out who introduced it. And not surprisingly, I found out that it was my friend Miel, whose couple of recipes I shared here in my previous posts. (Read: Low Sodium […]

Easy Recipes: Donna’s lasagna featuring Dona Elena’s Al Dente Lasagna

Filipinos like having a lot of food choices before them, that’s why food courts (a wing usually found in malls where there are a lot of food stalls to choose from) and buffets are very popular around here. However, my appetite doesn’t work well with such. For some strange reason, when you serve me buffets, I end up losing my appetite and barely able to eat anything. Seriously. I’m a minimalist by nature. I realise that that part of my personality manifests in the way I handle our household and our meals. Meals like the one I served my hubby and kids […]

Easy Recipes: Spicy tuyo pasta

Do you like spicy food? I do. I think it’s obvious because I’m featuring Spicy Tuyo Pasta in this blog. I don’t know why I love spicy, I just do. I always try to include red chili in all my sauces, and before I had children, I would always cook spicy Sinigang. I use a lot of hot sauce on my pizza and I don’t use regular catsup. I preferred Maggi Chili sauce, which disappeared from the supermarket shelves for reasons unknown to spicy-loving humanity! I found a good enough substitute in Silver Swan’s extra spicy chili sauce, but I […]
