The benefits of hands-on Science for kids

I’ve always believed that learning through hands-on experience is so much more effective than being given a bunch of names to memorize. Growing up through traditional learning methods, I remember not being too enthusiastic about school. I loved all of my English subjects – from Grammar, literature,  composition but I dreaded my Math and Science classes because of the way they were taught. I just couldn’t grapple with the tediousness of the approach. I know of many folks who take their kids’ academics way too seriously and go as far as signing up their kids for summer academics programs. I’m […]

The Great British Festival at BGC: A peek at British culture

One of the things I like about Bonifacio High Street ,BGC is that they hold events that can be educational for the kids. So far, they’ve had an event that showcased the Filipino culture, another the Chinese culture and a fellow mommy blogger wrote about the event on Germany recently. I don’t know how I learned about The Great British Festival, I’m sure it was through the internet, but I made a mental note to take the kids to see it. I’ve been hearing about the richness of the British culture from a couple who’ve been our friends for years. In […]

No fuss Spanish Sardines Pasta

I’ve been meaning to share something else these past two weeks in light of our 10th year anniversary this month but I haven’t really had the time nor the sanity for my thoughts to come together and finish that particular blog. So instead, I’ve decided to share another one of my husband’s favorite dishes. I got this idea from a friend of mine, Deedee, who is currently serving as a missionary in Africa. She posted a picture of their simple dinner and mentioned “sardines” which got me thinking of how great it would be to rip off the idea and […]

Easy-to-prepare Taco Bowls on laid back Sundays

I love tomatoes which is probably why I fell in love with Tacos. Just the thought of those ripe tomatoes packed with white onions and beef is enough to make me drool. I’ve been seeing a lot of recipes being shared by fellow mommies and WAHM-ies, and since I love preparing food for my family and friends, I thought I would share my own favorite recipes at least once a month starting with one of our favorite Sunday quick-to-prepare meals: Taco Bowls. Sunday is special for me and Jay. It’s not quite a completely free day as my hubby works […]

Digital Marketing for Mompreneurs: The basic marketing info I needed to know

I attended the Digital Marketing for Mompreneurs seminar in Pasig. It was free and someone posted it on the Mommy Bloggers page. It took me a few days to decide if I would register or not. After all, I had some tasks to finish at work and it would mean I’ll have to do extra hours to make up for the time. I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t something I already know. I’ve been reading a lot on digital marketing because it’s my job. I’ve also attended workshops, but it’s one thing to know all these principles and […]
